'So why NewVoiceMedia?' I was asked when it was announced that I would be moving on from salesforce.com – and in all fairness it was a great question.
salesforce.com is a pretty cool company, it has founded and established the word ‘cloud’ firmly in the forefront of IT, however it had grown-up, or maybe I should say had at least reached teenage years.
So the question ‘why NewVoiceMedia?’ did resonate around for a while when I tried to clarify why I was liking the company so much. It came down to this; there is so much to do, so little time in which to do it and the technology is WOW – this stuff really did deliver customer experience, something that we all want but rarely feel we get nowadays.
Having met the CEO Jonathan Gale and his team, I had been enthused by the level of energy and passion this group of people have for success. It reminded me of what a start-up is like and the adage about being greater than the sum of its parts.
The opportunity we have here at NewVoiceMedia and our drive and expansion into both the US and mainland Europe is an amazing challenge for a UK-based company. That’s not forgetting the recruiting we are doing in Basingstoke.
I think the next 12 months will be like being on a new BIG ride you find at a theme park; you know it’s going to be exhilarating; even scary, it gives you an alive feeling as it takes you to the edge, but there’s no way you’re not getting on, not now. As you look behind there is a queue of people waiting for their turn to feel the excitement, luckily you were at the front.
So the answer to the question is simple: "I want to be excited by what we do".Look out world, here we come!
