We Had an Awesome Time at Cloudforce! Here’s Why!

This article was published on May 26, 2020

On Tuesday we were really excited to be exhibiting at salesforce.com’s annual Cloudforce event in London. With over 14,000 registered attendees it is one of the biggest cloud events in the country.

For NewVoiceMedia it’s an important date in our calendar with the vast majority of our customers also being Salesforce users. The ability to route and prioritise your inbound calls based on data held in your Salesforce system is providing unique use cases that make our customers more competitive.

CEO Jonathan Gale in front of our cabs!

We kicked off the day with the arrival of our five branded black cabs, designed especially for Cloudforce. Over the next six months they’ll be travelling around London and being used for our regular Executive Customer dinners.

NewVoiceMedia offered guests free fresh coffee to get them warmed up for the day ahead, with everyone taking us up on the offer being entered into our free draw for a MacBook Air later in the day.

The keynote this year was presented by the energetic George Hu, COO for salesforce.com. Over two hours he walked attendees through a series of fantastic customer stories that helped explain how companies are getting the best out of the Salesforce platform.

Notable customer stories that we heard for the first time were Spotify, who have implemented Rypple, an employee performance tool recently purchased by salesforce.com. We also heard from 02, a leading UK mobile network who have built an entire B2B quoting and ordering portal on the Force.com platform.

The smell of popcorn covered the Expo!

We also heard a fantastic story from Activision, one of the world’s largest game developers, and responsible for the Call of Duty series. Activision understand that gaming is a social activity, and in providing support to their gamers across the world they have implemented much of salesforce.com’s Service Cloud and social technology to enable gamers to help themselves and receive support via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Inspired by these stories the keynote finished and we returned to the Expo where NewVoiceMedia was providing popcorn in our branded popcorn cartons! Having just seen a demo of basic CTI in the Activision demo it was a great opportunity for us to talk about how you can really innovate by designing which agent gets which call when!

We were blown away by the amount of questions attendees had over the afternoon. As Peter Coffee of salesforce.com declared in the pre-keynote sessions, “The time for cloud is here. We no longer need to apologise for being on the other end of the wire.” Businesses are rightly asking how they can turn voice into a true business application by linking it to the data they already hold in the cloud.

Everyone that picked up a free coffee, grabbed some popcorn, or attended the NewVoiceMedia stand was entered into our MacBook Air competition which was drawn at 4.15 in front of a packed stand! Our lucky winner was able to carry their new laptop away – a great day out for them!

An amazing sunset was laid on for the guests!

Following the end of the Expo NewVoiceMedia and the salesforce.com Service Cloud team held a boat party on the River Thames for key customers and partners. For three hours over 100 guests were treated to music, cocktails and magic on one of the hottest days of the year.

There were plenty of glowing faces as the boat docked at the London Eye at 10.00 and guests were further entertained at the Leader’s Bar in the Marriott Hotel.

We were delighted to hear so many fantastic stories of how customer are using our technology in combination with Salesforce, and so many ideas of how we could further develop the platforms together.

We can’t wait to see you at Cloudforce London next year for more excitement! For more photos of the day, why not check out the album on our Facebook page and like us while you are there?!
