NewVoiceMedia Team Helps Build Habitat for Humanity Home for Local Family

Last month our San Francisco team took on the challenge of helping build a new home for a deserving local family, and are pleased to have raised $1,450 for Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco in the process.

Our volunteers helped by installing fiberglass insulation in the walls and ceilings of a house that will eventually be occupied by a local family, providing them with a secure, stable future through affordable home ownership and neighbourhood revitalization. This model makes a 30-year commitment to the new homeowners and to the community in which they live, and gives many people in the Greater San Francisco Area an opportunity to obtain the dream of home ownership, while being able to financially support their families.

The team made use of NewVoiceMedia’s skills-based volunteering initiative and matched funding scheme through our charitable foundation GivingVoice, to support this important cause, which helps reduce the cost of land, construction and materials for these families.

Since 1989, the charity has built more than 150 homes. We are excited to have been able to give back to our community and look forward to working alongside Habitat for Humanity and the future homeowners through the Build Day Sponsorship Program.
