All Aboard for London’s Customer Company Tour!

This article was published on May 26, 2020

Last week we were really excited to be exhibiting at salesforce.com’s annual Customer Company Tour in London. Replacing the previous Cloudforce moniker, the event brought together leading Salesforce partners, customers, prospects, technology innovators and thought leaders, to share ideas, discuss industry trends and network.

It really is the UK’s cloud event of the year and for NewVoiceMedia, an important date in our calendar with the vast majority of our customers also being Salesforce users. The ability to route and prioritise inbound calls based on data held in your Salesforce system is helping our customers become more competitive.

We kicked off the day by offering our guests complimentary fresh coffee and the chance to enter into our free draw for a MacBook Air, and then joined the breakout sessions and keynote presentation.

The big announcement of the day was the launch of Salesforce Communities — the application of Chatter’s social collaboration capabilities in an externally-facing online community setting.

The service, which will officially be available in the summer, is designed to help its company customers become more social, allowing consumers and partners to communicate directly with the company.

Throughout the day we heard stories from high-profile brands like Coca Cola, Unilever and Philips, who demonstrated how Salesforce connects them to their customers in unique ways. Phillips showed us how sales staff use Chatter to see which devices a customer has. Incredibly, they can then check the usage of those devices from within the customer record in their CRM system to inform account decisions and strategies.

Salesforce’s chief operating officer George Hu also announced that Europe is the company’s fastest-growing region, and to celebrate, it plans to build its first UK-based data centre, which will be opened by 2014. “Europe is on fire for us at the moment, we’re really excited by European growth”, he told delegates. “There’s never been a better time to be in the cloud and working with Salesforce”.

For NewVoiceMedia, the event marked the launch of ContactWorld for Sales and Marketing. Integrating with Salesforce, this major new offering gives execs complete visibility of all sales activity as customer data is turned into customer insight, driving sales effectiveness. Amongst its features are mobile recording for organisations with field sales teams, and a configurable outbound caller ID (CLID).

Over at the expo we provided popcorn in branded cartons to hungry guests, as well as mugs, computer mice and other goodies. Our MacBook Air competition was drawn at 4.15 in front of a packed stand, and Helen Joo from Docusign was announced the lucky winner. Outside the ExCel, Titan the robot was drawing crowds! Quite literally the biggest entertainer on the planet, Titan is apparently the first robotic impersonator to perform comedy sketches and routines and is often seen rubbing shoulders with the likes of Will Smith and Kylie Minogue.

At the end of the expo, key customers and partners were whisked away on our branded London bus to the waiting Silver Barracuda for networking drinks on the river. The entertainment continued until the early hours at the coolest party in town, ‘Rock ‘til Dawn’ at Café de Paris, with NewVoiceMedia, Thunderhead and makepositive.

Needless to say, we had a fantastic time at CCT! For photos of the day, check out the album on our Facebook page. And why not ‘like’ us while you’re there?!
